Swing into Spring at Shoreditch Town Hall

Don your sharpest threads and head to Shoreditch Town Hall as we Swing into Spring!
Get in the groove with the beginner and intermediate swing dance classes to kick off the evening where you can learn some NEW hot moves that will keep you dancing all night long to live swing band.
There'll be great vintage tunes from the 30s, 40s and 50s courtesy of DJ Simon "Mr Kicks" Selmon & special guest DJ Baroness JoJo, cabaret performances from SwingdanceUKs Diamond Girls while live band King Groovy & the Horn Stars will have the joint jumpin' as you jive, jitterbug, hoochie coochie and shim sham shimmy your way through the evening.
Plus this year we are holding the Swing Into Spring Shoreditch Town Hall Swing Dance Championships, a fun competition to find this Winter's champs: enter on the night with a partner - any Swing or Authentic Jazz style welcome. Finals judged by audience applause.

Swing, Jitterbug and Jive the night away at this special after-hours dance event.
Whether you’re a beginner or already know your way around the floor, SwingdanceUK will show how it’s done. From Lindy Hop to Jitterbug, they’ll soon have you jiving onto the dance floor with their beginner and intermediate lessons.
With live music from South London Jazz Orchestra and cabaret from the Diamond Girls, you’ll be shaking and shimmying to the best sounds of the ‘40s.
Hair and makeup artists Pretty Me Vintage will be on hand (7.00pm to 10.00pm) to keep you looking the part.

Featuring live music from Laura B, Jive Aces, Stolen Moments, Whiskey Sours, Jeff Williams Swing Band, Bray's Jazz Band, Groove Collection, the CB Gatsby Band, Mississppi Swing band and more.
Plus many teachers & DJs including Simon from SwingdanceUK.

Grab your dancing shoes for some Jive, Lindy Hop & Ballroom or relax and enjoy some foot-tapping favourties! Join us for an afternoon of music and dancing in a marquee in the beautiful surroundings of The Lee Manor Park Ground. This event promises to be full of fun, music and laughter, a date to not be missed! Dance the afternoon away with a mix of Jive, Ballroom, Lindy Hop and much more. If dancing is not your thing, simply enjoy listening to the renowned 16 piece Stellar Big Band. The afternoon will also feature music from Vanessa Radcliffe, Jazz vocalist.
In addition, Simon Selmon from Swingdanceuk.com will be teaching a swing dance class from 2.30pm-3pm, then a second shorter fun class before the band starts their second set. If you would like to take advantage of Simon’s fantastic offer, then please arrive for approx 2.15pm for a prompt 2.30pm start.
