D-Day Dance at the National Army Museum

Saturday 22nd June 2019 7.30-11pm

Learn to Lindy Hop with SwingdanceUK with a beginners and intermediate Swing dance lesson then jump on the dance floor to show off your new moves to the tunes of 18 piece Big Band South London Jazz Orchestra.

Cabaret from the Diamond Girls plus Swing DJ Mr Kicks

To make sure you're looking the part, expert hair and makeup artists from Pretty Me Vintage will create your perfect '40s style.

Strike a pose at the photo booth, pick a prop and take a snap - a perfect memento of the evening!

The cafe will be open with a full bar and a selection of sandwiches & cakes etc.

Plus the Museum will have the The Art of Persuasion: Wartime Posters by Abram Games exhibition open for the first hour and half.  This major exhibition explores the life and legacy of the iconic designer Abram Games, focusing on his time as 'Official War Poster Artist' during the Second World War.  Usually £6 entry but will be free for that evening.  Full details here.

Heart of Wembley Festival

Wembley Futures will be hosting the 4th annual Heart of Wembley Festival. This vibrant community event will take place from 1pm-6pm along Wembley High Road between Park Lane and the Triangle.

The Heart of Wembley Festival will celebrate the community and all it's diversity in Wembley Central through a mix of both local and professional music, talented dance performances, fragrant food, and more.

SwingdanceUK will be hosting dancing to live Swing band sets.

Swing Dance Sunday at Cahoots

Sunday 25th August 2019

Cahoots are jolly excited to introduce their next Bank Holiday Swing Dance Sunday special! First, between 5pm - 7pm they'll be hosting some spiffingly good dance lessons with SwingdanceUK for those of you keen to learn the art of a good ol’ 40s knees-up. Then, from 7pm onwards the scoundrels will be opening the doors to all you old beans. They’ll have an incredible DJ-set by Auntie Maureen and swinging swing dancers from SwingdanceUK to keep those toes tapping all night long! Then we'll have the sensational Hotsie Totsies from across the pond performing from 8:30pm.

Shoreditch Town Hall Swing Dance

Don your sharpest threads and head to Shoreditch Town Hall!

Get in the groove with the beginner and intermediate swing dance classes to kick off the evening where you can learn some hot moves that will keep you dancing all night long.

There'll be great vintage tunes from the 30s, 40s and 50s courtesy of DJ Simon "Mr Kicks" Selmon, and cabaret performances from SwingdanceUKs Diamond Girls, whilst a live swing band will have the joint jumpin' as you jive, jitterbug, hoochie coochie and shim sham shimmy your way through the evening.

Presented by SwingDance UK and Shoreditch Town Hall.
